Home Alliance, Inc. is in need of volunteers interested in affordable housing for lower income families, military veterans, and persons with special needs. Members of lower income neighborhoods within the community including local business owners are needed to serve on the Board of Directors. It is important that we stay informed of housing needs and development opportunities in local neighborhoods/communities in the service area.
Affordable housing requires special investment funding from local financial/business organizations plus local/state/federal governmental grant funding. Staff work to locate governmental funding, but need additional help locating and obtaining private grant funds and donations from financial institutions and other local businesses and individuals. We would like to create a special committee of community business volunteers to help with locating and obtaining local development funding.
Home Alliance has been blessed to receive donations and grants from the following organizations: Wells Fargo Bank, TD Charitable Foundation, Luke Ward Family, Home Depot, Waccamaw Home Consortium, South Carolina Housing, City of Myrtle Beach, Horry County, U.S. Dept. of Housing & Urban Development, and Federal Home Loan Bank-Atlalnta. We would like to expand this list of charitable donors and volunteers could be very helpful in this regard.
During the period of Covid 19 recession Home Alliance has received charitable donations of $5,000 from TD Charitable Foundation and $50,000 from the S.C. Cares Minority and Small Business Nonprofit Relief Program to help soften the financial losses experienced during 2020.
