Alliance Inn Apartments

In 2001, HUD awarded Home Alliance, Inc. a Supportive Housing Program (SHP) grant of $695,947 for the construction and operation of the Alliance Inn Apartments. The construction project was completed in August 2004 in partnership with Douglas Development LLC. The HUD grant was used to match monies from the Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit program and Affordable Housing Program of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. The 54 unit apartment project cost a total of $5.1 Million. Tenants must be low-income and formerly homeless. The project also includes a special medical clinic for the homeless operated by Little River Medical Center with special grants from the US Dept. of Health and Human Services. The SHP grant included $300,000 in homeless supportive services funding for a 3 year period. The SHP grant was renewed every year from 2006-2016 for $98,649 per year.

Oak Tree Farm-SOS Care, Inc.

Oak Tree Farm will be an affordable housing community designed for individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities. The community will include access to transportation, life skills training, an amenities center, a swimming pool, on-site laundry facilities, and more. Oak Tree Farm will provide housing for adult individuals with autism and related disabilities. (Photo from ground breaking ceremony)

Home Alliance assisted SOS Care with the acquisition of $300,000 state grant from SC Housing for the construction of the first 5 unit residential building, which was completed in January 2021.

North Strand Housing Shelter

New shelter building for homeless persons and families in the northern Horry County area. Home Alliance, Inc. assisted North Strand Housing Shelter with the planning and acquisition of $300,000 state grant from SC Housing for the construction of a $388,000 shelter building on its property on SC9 in Longs, SC. The building was completed in 2014. Additional funding was provided by Horry County CDBG grant program.
